2. KNOW YOUR KPI’S

What are KPI’s?

KPI stands for key performance indicators

Simply put, key performance indicators are measurable values that demonstrate how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives.

Chances are, you already know what your key performance indicators are. You just need to put them in the context of digital marketing.

Let’s say you run a Facebook campaign and your business goal is to increase your client book. To increase your client book you need leads. So total leads are the KPI’s used to measure the effectiveness of the campaign.

These KPI’s are different based on the objective of the business.

3. MEASURE DATA (ANALYTICS ARE YOUR FRIEND)

One of the best things about internet marketing is that you can see a lot of data that you can’t see in traditional marketing.

You can see how many potential buyers visited your website, how they found you, the pages they visited, who made a purchase and they engaged your content.

The most important thing is that you correctly measure what you want to track.

Once you have determined your KPI’s, you can use the analytics to view your progress.

4. MAKE SURE YOUR DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGY MAKES SENCE

Digital marketing isn’t always exact. However, you can always make sure that your campaigns make sense.

Know the differences between the social media websites and ad networks.

Go where your customers are.

Constantly ask yourself, “is this the best use of my time and advertising dollars?” If it isn’t, Change your strategy.

5. BE PATIENT AND TRUST YOUR DATA

Look, you’re not going to always get the results that you want.

That is always going to be part of marketing. You will run tests and experiments.

The one thing that effective digital marketing provides is reliance on data. Trust the data and adjust accordingly.
